BCC Board Meeting 08/07/2022

Attending:  Brad Sharp, Mike Laman, Klemen Vodopivec and Susan Woods.
  1. We talked briefly about the issue with entry into the pool area for unguarded swim.  One of the storms damaged our entry system and due to its age and problems obtaining parts for it, we need to find a temporary solution which would allow members to enter for unguarded swim.  At this time a temporary entry system is being considered.  Discussed possibility of having one that could be installed and then be a backup to the new system if needed.
  2. Mike indicated that after August 21st, that guards not be scheduled Monday through Friday, due to the unavailability of the high school guards.  Member will need to be reminded, that unguarded swim is for members only (no guests), the diving board and the slide may not be used.Mike has a person who will come in to clean and restock M-F from 5 to 8 PM and 11-2 on weekends.
***My own personal note and motion as we continue to get inquires/pleas for unguarded swim.  I make a motion that we go ahead and purchase a system in order to resume unguarded swim for the remainder of this season and that the one we obtain would be left in place to serve as a ‘back up’ to the new system that will be installed.  Home Depot has 2 models that would fit a chain link fence system and they can be found at  www.homedepot.com/s/Lockey%2520SUMO%2520GL2%2520Surface%2520Mount%2520Gate%2520Lock?NCNI-5
Others may be familiar with a better lock system or one that is as good and costs less.  Please feel free to speak up.
Having it as a backup system, in the event something like what we are dealing with now happens again, would justify the expense.
